Simple Living. Grounded Peace.
Welcome to Blue Jasper Living—a quiet corner of the internet dedicated to slowing down, stripping away the noise, and building a peaceful life from the ground up.
Whether you are dreaming of leaving the hustle behind, looking for inspiration to design your own barndominium, or seeking simple daily practices to bring more calm into your home, you’ve found your sanctuary.
The Story Behind the Homestead
After navigating major life resets, hard mistakes, and the fast pace of modern demands, we realized something essential: peace isn't something you find—it's something you build.
We packed up, moved out to the country, and decided to create a life rooted in simplicity, independence, and intention. Armed with only a background in financing and title logistics, a pencil, and a clear vision, I drew our own house plans for our barndominium and set to work.
Building our home—and then a detached ADU for my parents—was more than a DIY project. It was a physical manifestation of starting fresh. Every beam, open space, and rustic finish was designed to foster a sense of refuge and calm.
Living in a barndominium taught us that you don't need all the frills or complicated clutter to live richly. You just need a thoughtful design, open air, and room to breathe.
How We Live: The Core Pillars
At Blue Jasper Living, we believe that a simple life isn't about doing nothing—it's about doing what matters, with ease and clarity. Our days are shaped by three core pillars:
1. Simple Homes & Barndominium Design
Your physical environment directly impacts your mental clarity. We can share practical barndominium floor plan ideas, smart layout inspiration, and simple home design strategies that make country living functional, beautiful, and affordable.
2. Country Life & Rural Harmony
Living in the country brings a natural rhythm. From quiet mornings on the porch to hands-on project days, we share the realities, joys, and practical tips of running a rural home, tending to the property, and paring down to what truly matters.
3. Mindful Movement & Somatic Peace
Hard work and daily stress require intentional recovery. As a certified yoga instructor, I integrate gentle yoga, somatic movement, and breathwork into everyday life. You don't need a fancy studio or hours of spare time—just simple, daily practices to keep your body resilient and your mind calm.
Why "Blue Jasper"?
In nature, Jasper is known as a supreme nurturer and grounding stone—a symbol of stability, endurance, and comfort through life’s shifts. Paired with the calming, serene energy of Blue, it represents the exact atmosphere we strive to cultivate here: grounded strength and deep peace.
